This is a pair of genuine fossil mammoth ivory earrings set in
sterling silver. The mammoth ivory is natural material from
prehistoric mammoth tusks. This fossil material has been carved
into delicate feathers….each being a one of a kind. The patina,
or coloration of this material varies. The long feathers hang 2”
from the French hook style ear wires. These earrings feature
unikite beads (green / pale rose).
Mammoth Ivory is from an ancient ancestor to our modern elephants...the
Woolly Mammoth which lived in the Ice Age a million years ago.
Its great curving tusks were preserved in a fossilization process.
