GOURD WORK

LONE BUFFALO GOURD WALL SCULPTURE...............$65.00

This wall sculpture is created from a small gourd and
beaver chewed sticks. It is decorated with various beads
and buffalo wool. The image of a buffalo is burned into
the gourd using a hot tool--a technique called pyrography.
The gourd is lashed to the stick frame with sinew and is
decorated with a hand knapped arrowhead replica made of chert.
The gnawed sticks have a tung oil finish to bring out
the pattern and protect the wood. The other beads and
materials include; creek rock, pipe stone, beads of glass,
wood, shell, turquoise, bone, garnet, horn, jasper, agate,
snowflake obsidian, sea erchin spine.
This piece measures 13 ½” x 9”. It has a wire to hang
on the wall or it can sit on a shelf or tabletop.
