This one-of-a-kind little ladle is pefect for serving a morel
mushroom sauce. I have created this unusual item by soldering
one of our hand cast sterling silver morels to a vintage
sterling silver gravy ladle. The ladle is 5" long with a pretty
scalloped edge bowl (bowl measures approximately 1 1/2" X 1 1/4").
The weight of this sterling silver item is 17.87 grams.
It is hallmarked (the letter "W" in an oval next to a lion).
It is the perfect size for serving precious morel sauce!
Morels are wild mushrooms that can be found all over the world.
Each geographic latitude on the planet has its time for the morel.
In midwestern woods this time is April. Morels flourish about a month,
along side early spring wildflowers...then disappear as suddenly
as they arrive. Our solid sterling silver "morel" is created by
lost wax casting from an actual specimen. This is our original
design and handcrafted by us in our studio in
beautiful southern Illinois.
