This 17” long necklace features a centerpiece that is a
replica arrowhead. The arrowhead measures approximately
1” long and is wrapped in sterling silver. The arrowhead is
strung on beads that are genuine picture jasper, turquoise &
African turquoise. I used matte black glass seed beads and
sterling silver accent beads to complete the design.
The necklace is finished with a sterling silver spring ring clasp.

This arrowhead is hand knapped from a stone called chert.
Knapping is an ancient technique used by early man to fabricate
tools from stone. Pressure is applied in a controlled way to
create a sharp edge. Often antler was used to flake the chert
into shape. This particular projectile point was fashioned by a
modern chert knapper using waste flakes that were generated
hundreds or thousands of years ago by ancient man as a
by-product in the knapping process.
